The high today was a surprisingly cool 75°F but we went to the pool anyway because that's how we roll. I suppose the water itself wasn't too bad, but the air was rather chilly once you were wet. We stayed for about an hour.
Rachel was the first one in, of course. The little ones (and I) were a little more hesitant but eventually we all hopped in, though the hopping in didn't last long for the smallest among us.
When the kids got out for a snack I hopped in to do some laps with the kick board. Belly-down swimming is apparently a good way to get baby into the right position. We'll see...only ten days (+/-) to go.
Here are my little cheerleaders:
The other day Rachel asked if I would just have the baby already because she hates seeing my big tummy in the pool. It freaks her out, apparently.
Don't worry, Rachel—I'm doing everything I can...which is not much because these babies just come when they want to. But I did scrub all the tile floors on my hands and knees today (another good way to get baby in the right position) and walked quite a bit (after breakfast and dinner). That wasn't all to induce labour, necessarily, but to use up "extra" blood sugar.
Oh, and we found a luna moth in one of the pool traps. I don't think I'll ever get over how majestic these moths are.

Tomorrow's supposed to be a bit warmer than today so we'll probably head to the pool as soon as the children realize we have nothing to do (for once). We haven't had a Saturday like that for a long time!
Ha! I love that you wrote this and then had a baby today! Nothing much to do... Congratulations on having Zoe! A few days ago I completed this "form"online that tells you what your name would be if you were born today and mine was Zoe. But really I just wanted to tell you how happy I am for you all!
ReplyDeleteI, too, love that you had nothing to do for once on Saturday, and Zoë decided to come so you WOULD have something to do. :) And, maybe chilly swimming and cleaning tiles helped her decide to come??
ReplyDeleteEager to read about when you went into labor and all that since you cleaned and swam this day, and had Zoë fairly early the next. Hope y'all are doing well. I liked reading what you had for breakfast (and that you felt like a sinner.) HAHA!
