During the first session of General Conference, Elder Packer used the word “evil” in his talk.
Rachel: Wait! What’s his name?!
Me: Elder Packer.
Rachel: Is he a good guy?
Me: Yes.
Rachel: Then why is he talking about evil?
She opened her Easter basket this morning and there was no candy inside. We recycled all the gifts we gave to her last year and added a book…and told her she had to share the toys with Miriam. Kind of a rip-off, but she’ll never know.
We have four plastic eggs which we filled with candy (mostly stuff that she got at yesterday's egg hunt) and hid. She found them and was very excited.
“Mmm-mm-mm-mm-mmmmm! I love candy!” she sang.
Later while I was feeding Miriam, Rachel danced over with a piece of candy.
“This is for Miriam,” she said.
“Oh, thanks, that’s very nice of you, but Miriam can’t have candy. She’s still a baby.”
“This is for Miriam for when she grows up. We can save it for her!”
“Sounds good. Just put it on the table. You’re such a good sharer.”
“Yeah, I am!”
Two minutes later Rachel came and took the candy back. It’s the thought that counts, right?
On a completely unrelated note, Rachel has taken to calling me “mother.” I think this is hilarious and blame it all on 101 Dalmatians.
“I’m hungry, Mother.”
