Should I be worried?

Miriam has been asleep since five-thirty this morning. No joke. It's eight-thirty in the evening now.

She might have been up for, maybe, an hour an a half...total...today. That's a generous guess.

What will this mean for tonight when she's actually supposed to be sleeping?

  1. I remember one day like that where I actually woke Michael up to feed him and he went back to sleep, and I woke him up 4 hours later to feed him some more, and right back to sleep again. Just tired I guess.

  3. nah, I wouldn't worry. I'd enjoy it. As long as she was eating. That's the thing I can't seem to not worry about when I have a newborn. (Did that make sense?) But as long as she eats during those few minutes she is awake, I say take what you can get. Sometimes I wondered if I should wake a baby up so that they'd want to sleep later, but it's no guarantee that they will sleep later. So enjoy it while it lasts, I say.

  4. Not to worry you.....check her diapers....make sure she is wet...Sabrina was like that for a week and she was hospitalized for about a week. As long as she has wet diapers....i think they said at least 4-5 ...don't worry.

  5. lucky you. The doctors told me that I needed to wake Vivi up every 3 hours to breastfeed because she was a sleepy baby too. But, as long as she's fed and yeah doing the diaper thing...you're pretty lucky.

  6. Yeah--I'm not worried about what's going in or out of her. At this point all is fine on both fronts. I'm more worried about when she'll decide to wake up...2 am? 4 am?

  7. I'm guessing Rachel wouldn't buy the "sleep when the baby sleeps" thing. :) Good luck!
