Allergic to Teething

Rachel's nose has been a little stuffy lately. She's teething, so we think that's why, although she's also suspect of having allergies like her daddy. We hope not, but it's a possibility.

This morning she woke up all snuffly and was rather noisy while she was trying to nurse. Andrew was trying to catch a few more z's, but he couldn't sleep for all her snorting and gasping, sniffing and sputtering.

"Poor baby," I crooned, "I hope those teeth come in soon so you can be a happy girl again!"

Andrew's's pretty miserable, too, with his allergies in full swing. Watery eyes, stuffy nose, scratchy throat. Must be awful. I wouldn't really know, and I hope to never be able to sympathize, although sympathy is often what Andrew is looking for. He grunted and sniffed at me dramatically.

"Ugh," he moaned, "I'm all stuffed up...I must be teething, too!"

"Oh, poor baby!" I got out before laughing at him.

It really is rather sad. He can't get through the day without taking allergy medicine, and even then he still gets hit with heavy symptoms at times. It's horrible. That's why we're hoping Rachel's nose problems are just because she's teething. I'm not sure I could stand having two miserable people on allergy medicine each and every spring...

  1. Tell Andrew never to move to Indiana. I didn't have allergies until I moved here. I've talked to a lot of people that say Indiana just brings it out in you. Maybe it has something to do with the humidity, or maybe I'm just allergic to Indiana. Haha. At least it's just in the spring...

  2. yes, and never move to England... I'm only allergic over here! I never have been anywhere else. I don't know what it is. This year hasn't been bad at all because it's been so cold still, but I'm waiting for the week or two where whatever it is that I react to is floating through the air...
