At playgroup, Heather got a book out to read to the kids. We had a Valentine's Day party and she was too late getting to the library--all the Valentine's Day books were checked out. If you want them, you have to go early, I guess. So instead she read "Skinnamarink-a-dinky-dink" to the kids. You know, Skinnamarink-a-dink-a-dink, skinnamarink-a-doo. I love you! It works for Valentine's Day. It says I love you and that's what it's all about. Wait...that's the hokey pokey.
Rachel just about bowled Heather over when she saw the book. We haven't even ever read that one before, although we've sung it plenty--she was just thrilled to have a new story, I guess. She was on her hands and knees right in front of Heather the whole time, screaming with pleasure and trying to grab the pictures.
Today she crawled over to the book bin, pulled it off the shelf, stood up and started pawing through the books. Oddly enough she passed over Quanti Colori and instead settled for My First Words.
She's getting aggressive about storytime. That's a good clue that we need to go to the library, right?
Yay for books! In my world, it's ALWAYS time to got to the library...
ReplyDeleteHere's a book recommended by one of your favorite librarians who happens to be named Rachel, and as the education librarian, she ought to know..."Math doesn't suck." I think you should read it, and then teach its concepts to your sister! :o)
ReplyDeleteOops!!!!! Canadian Dave did not say that. I did! Stupid computer! (Okay, Stupid person...I admit it.)
